7 YEAR OLD PLAY DATE TORTURE

I often wonder when I was seven did I adore my friends the way my daughter and her friends adore each other. She can't wait for them to come over and then she never wants them to leave. I think back now and I do remember having a friend Michelle, and I thought the sun rose and set with her. At my age though, you are lucky if you have a one or two close friends that are still in your life. I bring this up because when my daughter has a several hours of a wonderful playdate and it has come to an end, her and her friend feel like they are being tortured. The comments range from "We've only had 5 minutes together" to "This is so unfair" to my favorite "It feels like we are being tortured". I am thinking when have we ever talked about torture. Then there is sad, mopey faces and of course usually some tears.
I was thinking that I should start to have playdates with my friends. It just does not seem to have the same innocence when you are my age as when you are seven. If I say Mommy is going on a playdate that conjures up a different set of thoughts, I believe, and none of those thoughts are me playing puppets with my friends or perhaps it does LOL. I am hoping that I can leave my friends without all of the sad and mopey faces tonight when I go to mommy's playdate of Bunco. Anywhoo I will talk to you later. I am off to feed my darling. Talk to you later.
Peace and Blessings,
Tracey
